2013 Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 29 Now Available!
The term mountain bike gets thrown on just about anything with knobby tires these days, but few recreational (bike shop speak for; affordable) are actually up to the task of real mountain biking. For years Specialized has led this category with their line of Hardrock mountain bikes. The 2013 Hardrock Sport Disc 29 proves that they’re still the leader, and then some.
“Young rippers—and new rippers of every age—ride the Hardrock because of its durability, versatility, and capability, whether cruising through urban environs en route to school or work, tearing up some local mountain singletrack, or poaching a shortcut through the woods to a friend’s house.”
That’s what Specialized has to say about it. But what’s different this year?
Let’s start off with the biggest performance upgrade, the brakes. Most bikes at this price point come stock with a decent and easily adjustable pair of mechanical disc brakes. Specialized ups the ante by upgrading the 2013 model to Tektro hydraulic disc brakes without raising the price! Another sweet change is the drive train is now Shimano Altus/Acera which promises to be much smoother shifting compared to last year’s spec. All of this on the proven A1 premium aluminum frame that has served this bike so well all of these years.
So when can you get one? You can pick one up at Spark Bike Run Sports for our lowest sale price of $619.98 and Free Service 4 Life!
